Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Qualitative Research on Volunteering Benefits among Older Adults
The Kunin-Lunenfeld Applied Research Unit, part of the Rotman Research Institute of Baycrest and affiliated with the University of Toronto, has an opening for a 2-year post-doctoral research fellowship in the area of volunteering benefits among older adults. The research division at Baycrest is focused on aging and the brain, with a concentration in cognitive and neural functioning.
Position for a Functional MRI scientist, The Rotman Research Institute, Baycrest Centre; University of Toronto
The Rotman Research Institute of Baycrest Centre invites applications for an fMRI physicist position. The successful candidate will engage in a research program on the development and application of structural and functional MRI techniques for neuroscience research. While pursuing an independent research program, he/she will be expected to collaborate on diverse studies of human cognition and neurological disorders that involve MRI research resources at Baycrest. The candidate must possess a PhD or equivalent and demonstrated experience in MRI. The Rotman Research Institute has a research-dedicated Siemens 3T TIM Trio MRI and fully-equipped electroencephalography and magnetoencephalography laboratories in-house. The successful candidate will play a central role in the coordination and operation of the MRI imaging facility.
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN NEUROIMAGING OF MOOD AND COGNITION
The Kunin-Lunenfeld Applied Research Unit (KLARU) at Baycrest is offering a two-year funded research fellowship in neuropsychiatry and neuroimaging in the laboratory of Dr. Linda Mah. Projects will focus on understanding the structural and functional neuroanatomical abnormalities associated with mood and memory disorders in the elderly and healthy aging. Studies will be carried out in collaboration with Dr. Cheryl Grady, Neuroimaging and Aging Lab, Rotman Research Institute and other researchers within KLARU and Rotman.
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cognitive Neuroscience and Stroke Neurorehabilitation
The Rotman Research Institute, Baycrest Toronto, Ontario Canada The Rotman Research Institute of Baycrest is offering a research fellowship in cognitive neuroscience and neurorehabilitation in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Levine in collaboration with a team of researchers including other scientists at the Rotman Research Institute, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario Centre for Stroke Recovery. The projects concern analysis of large-scale network changes following mild stroke combined with cognitive rehabilitation. The fellow will be exposed to multimodal neuroimaging methodologies (structural and functional neuroimaging (fMRI), EEG, and magnetoencephalography). The starting date is negotiable, but preferably by January, 2010. The duration of the fellowship is two years, with the option of continuing for a third year. Bursaries are in line with the fellowship scales of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and include an allowance for travel and research expenses. Applicants should have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree.
