Hi, One thing that has always struck me as strange is that PLS, as defined in your papers (1996, 2004), is defined in terms of the SVD. However, when I try to search other sources for an explanation of the method of PLS, the method is almost always defined by some iterative process, e.g. classical NIPALS, what is the difference between your method and these iterative methods.
